Full function toggle reader capability for the university market. This software-only product enables valid badge read to shunt alarms and keep a door unlocked until another valid badge swipe occurs. Instructors can now unarm a door for the duration of a class. When class is over and all students leave, the instructor can lock and re-arm the door with a card swipe.

Simply extending the door's unlock time can be insufficient for a variety of operational reasons. What is needed is a simple, foolproof way for a non-security person to arm and disarm a door much in the same way that an individual might arm or disarm the alarm panel in their home. The most secure, cost effective, and efficient way to provide this capability is use the badge credential to signal the access control system that the current armed/disarmed state should be toggled. Because each cardholder's badge control access to specific areas, such a solution affords even better security and granularity than the typical alarm panel which is generally an all-or-none proposition.

Install the software on your Picture Perfect host, use the simple configuration tool to designate which of your existing readers are classroom readers. The software handles the rest.

Classroom Reader's configuration GUI is 100% web-based and works with Picture Perfect releases 2.0 and up. It runs on Linux and AIX. Browser support: IE, Netscape, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox. MicroScope is delivered in RPM (Red Hat Package Manager) format.
